Home and School Associaton

The purpose of this organization is to bring about the close coordination between the parents and teachers by promoting the mission of the school and fostering the pursuit of academic excellence.

The Home and School Association is led by a committee of elected parent volunteers who work closely with the principal and the Advisory Council.

The HSA helps coordinate the volunteers at SPC and has developed parent service love hours. Each family is required to complete love hours each year. This year each family is required to complete 25 love hours. The love hours hold a monetary value of $10 each. This year families may elect to pay $250 for love hours in lieu of service. All volunteers must complete the appropriate paperwork and have a clear background check.

The HSA also provides hospitality for some school sponsored events and coordinates fund raising activities. To make these efforts possible each family is expected to pay $25.00 for Home and School dues.

All Families are a member of the association and are encouraged to take an active role and attend the four (4) Home and School Meetings held throughout the school year.

Ways to Help the SPC HSA

How can I help?” The answer that is simple …by joining one of the Home and School Sub-Committees (please see Sub-Committees list below.) In order for each subcommittee to be effective, we will need at least three with no more than five volunteers to serve. Please fill out the HSA contact form to include your name, telephone number, email address, your 1st and 2nd committee choice.

The Fundraising Sub-Committee:

Plan, implement and manage a variety of fundraising activities throughout the school year to support approved HSA projects. The committee’s activities may include (not restricted to):

• Solicitation of donations and sponsorships

The Academic Enrichment Sub-Committee:

In collaboration with the faculty and school administration plan, implement and manage a variety of activities throughout the school year to enrich the academic objectives of school. The committee’s activities may include (not restricted to):

• Career Day

• Cultural arts programs

The Special Events and Programs Sub-Committee:

In collaboration with the faculty and school administration ensure parent support for programs and special events. The committee activities may include (not restricted to):

• Assist in planning Grandparents Day

• Videotaping and other support at Holiday events

• Catholic Schools Week
